What to Expect in a Session With Me
In our work together, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and accepted without judgment. I hope to create an environment where shame can be left at the door and you can begin to explore, learn, and grow into your most authentic self. I believe therapy begins with meeting you where you are. Building a genuine, trusting therapeutic relationship is an important first step, and I strive to approach our work together with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. I see you as a whole person, recognizing that your experiences are shaped by your relationships, family, community, environment, and the systems around you. Our work does not exist solely within the walls of the therapy office. What happens in session connects to the life you return to when you leave, and I hope to help you develop insight, skills, confidence, and tools that can support you both inside and outside of our sessions. You are the author of your own story, and you are the storyteller. My role is not to write your story for you, but to walk alongside you as you explore where you have been, where you are now, and where you want to go.
A Little Bit About Me
Outside of my professional and academic work, I enjoy cooking, staying active, watching a good TV show or movie, and spending time with friends and family. I am currently a second-year Master of Social Work student at Virginia Commonwealth University, where I also earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I have a passion for working with children and helping them develop social skills, communication, and emotional regulation through play. I have five years of experience as an unlicensed behavioral coach working with children with autism in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) field. This experience has strengthened my passion for supporting children and families while recognizing the unique strengths, needs, and experiences that each individual brings. I am passionate about continuing to grow as a social worker and becoming a strong advocate for the children and families I have the privilege of working with. I hope to create meaningful, supportive relationships with the families I serve and help children feel empowered, understood, and confident in who they are.
