What to Expect in a Session With Me

I hold a firm belief that the key to building a therapeutic relationship and alliance with my clients is grounded in representation, cultural competence, and a non-judgmental attitude. As a combat veteran with multiple deployments and over 20 years of providing support to service members, I know the importance of building a strong rapport that leads to the creation of a space where an individual can release the stronghold of shame and be empowered through embracing transparency and vulnerability. Having been trained and educated in liberation theology, I also take into consideration how systems and systemic injustices impact the individuals who I am providing care to. So, in a session with me, expect to be heard, affirmed, laugh, challenged, and be prepared to grow.

A Little Bit About Me

As an advocate for advancing mental health among veterans and the Black community, I have been relentless in my attempts to confront the stigmas associated with seeking help among this population. I believe that through normalizing mental health, spiritual health, and physical wellness practices, individuals can thrive and become more enlightened and better versions of themselves.

My current areas of interest include working with college students/emerging adults experiencing societal stressors, couples who are in need of pre-marital and marital counseling, pre/post-divorce counseling for individuals seeking support and help reimagining life after a breakup and grief counseling for those navigating a recent loss.
