What to Expect in a Session with Me
Currently my clinical caseload is full and I am not accepting new clients. However, please feel free to reach out to me for a referral or to be added to a waitlist.
In a session with me it may look like us beginning by building rapport and establishing trust- this is a relationship after all, and things just need to vibe well before you can do any other type of work. Then a process of working together to establish goals including those things you may just want to make sure we make space to process routinely during our sessions together. From there, we may explore and work to change maladaptive thinking using the evidenced-based techniques in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. If there is a trauma history, we may utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as a method of deep processing. From there, therapy can go in two directions- the first can be seen as ongoing, self-care, routine mental wellness activity. That is, just like physical exercise - you commit to engaging in this healthy activity both as healing and as a preventative tool. Or a second way to view therapy is as short-term, solution-focused work. That is, you may present with a particular issue you want to address- then engage in co-learning, setting small intentions and continue those new adaptations after therapy has discontinued. Both are wonderful ways to attend to your needs and I’m supportive of either!
A Little About Me
Welcome to my page! A little about me… I am proud to be in Richmond, Virginia because I really love this city. Originally from Long Island, NY- I think Richmond has something for everyone- it’s diverse, full of art with smart, beautiful, eclectic people. Even cooler is that I get to be a part of this community as a small business owner. I consider myself incredibly lucky to practice as a mental health clinician and interact and get to know the amazing people in RVA.
Supervision Services
A significant portion of my current work is spent providing supervision to supervisee’s of social work. Currently I run two group supervision sessions per week- Monday’s at noon and Friday’s at 8am. These groups are attended by a diverse group of clinicians in various settings in the field of social work. Additionally I offer individual supervision sessions by appointment. Supervision with me is somewhat structured as we all participate in presenting on various topics including theory, diagnosing and interventions. Other areas addressed include: routine case consultations, crisis support, career goal-setting and study preparation for the LCSW exam.
Beginning January 2023 the fees for supervision services will be $95 per individual supervision session, and $55 per group supervision session.
Please email the main office for more information.
