Position Overview:

RVA Counseling, a private practice mental health company, is expanding its team and seeking a Community Engagement & Marketing Specialist. This unique role encompasses a blend of community outreach coordination and social media marketing to promote our mission and engage with our community. The successful candidate will play a vital role in planning events, driving social media efforts, and establishing a community 'give back' program.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive outreach strategies to strengthen community presence.

  • Train and collaborate with interns to support community outreach initiatives and events.

  • Plan and execute diverse outreach events, including staff appreciation gatherings, fairs, networking opportunities, and community give-back programs.

  • Generate marketing and communication materials to promote our mission through social media and other platforms.

  • Maintain an organized networking database, ensuring accurate contact information.

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal staff for community outreach efforts.

  • Handle administrative tasks such as report preparation, budget management, and inventory control for fundraising materials.

  • Formulate and execute social media strategies to boost brand awareness and engagement.

  • Curate engaging content for social media platforms, encompassing written posts, imagery, and videos.

  • Monitor social media channels for customer inquiries, comments, and feedback, responding professionally and promptly.

  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for social media campaigns.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media initiatives with overall marketing objectives.

  • Analyze social media data and metrics to measure campaign success and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancements.

  • Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience in community outreach, social media marketing, or related roles.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to build relationships with staff, interdisciplinary professionals, and community members/clients.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.

  • Knowledge of outreach and social media best practices and strategies.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
