What to Expect in a Session With Me

I am passionate about the transformative power of relationships and maintain a client-centered, trauma-informed approach in my practice.  I draw from a variety of approaches to best meet your identified goals and needs.  I consider it an incredible privilege to be invited onto my client’s journey- whether that journey is to pursue healing, clarity, ongoing support, or short-term solution focused support.  Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a social worker supporting youth and families primarily in the Greater Richmond area.  The majority of my practice focused on working with families experiencing foster care and adoption.  As an adoptee myself, I bring a unique perspective and expertise that allows me to empathize with and support youth and families navigating the foster care and adoption experience.  In April of 2024, I earned the C.A.S.E. Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) certificate.  I also have training in motivational interviewing and a passion for nature-based and expressive therapies.  Above all, I am dedicated to empowering clients and helping them recognize their existing strengths as a solid foundation for their ongoing journey of healing and growth.

A Little About Me

I was born and raised in the Greater Richmond area and truly appreciate our great city for all it has to offer.  When I’m not at work you’ll likely find me reading, enjoying nature with my partner and our beloved fur-kids, gardening, or playing Nintendo Switch.  I am passionate about nature, animals, and love to spend time in the mountains. I’m a wannabe homesteader and dream of growing all sorts of vegetables, flowers, and having as many animals as possible! My academic journey took me to the University of Denver, where I obtained a master’s degree in social work.  During that time, I explored my passion for animal-assisted therapy and had the opportunity to co-facilitate equine therapy sessions and earned a certificate in Animal-Assisted Social Work.
